Who we are

A Gulf-based surveying team built on independence, not shortcuts.

Anchorline was founded to give ship-owners, cargo interests, and insurers a survey they could trust without a second opinion. Fifteen years on, that's still the whole job.

OUR STORY

Started at the dockside, not in a boardroom.

Anchorline was established in Sharjah by a small group of marine surveyors who had spent years working for larger inspection houses and wanted to build something leaner — a firm where the surveyor who visits your vessel is the same person who signs the report.

That structure hasn't changed as we've grown. We're now retained by cargo traders, ship operators, and insurers throughout the UAE and neighbouring Gulf states, but every survey is still carried out and reviewed by senior staff, not junior hires working from a checklist.

HOW WE WORK

The standards behind every report we issue.

These aren't slogans — they're the checks we apply before a report leaves our office.

Independence first

We accept no instruction that would shape a finding before the inspection has taken place. If a result is inconvenient, it's still the result.

Method over opinion

Every survey follows a documented method — sampling protocol, draft-reading procedure, or inspection checklist — so results are repeatable, not personal judgment calls.

Fit for scrutiny

Reports are written assuming they may be read in an arbitration room, not just an inbox — clear evidence, clear method, no vague language.

LEADERSHIP

Rayan James

General Manager

Rayan has led Anchorline's survey operations since the firm's founding, with a background inspecting bulk commodity shipments across the Gulf. He still attends select surveys personally, particularly on disputed cargo claims, and reviews every report before it's issued to a client.
